Yellow Boots

Snowy Egrets are a common bird with uncommon beauty and “yellow boots”, found in the marshes and mudflats of the lower 48 states. Hunted to near extinction in the late 1800’s to supply plumes for ladies' hats, their populations recovered when laws were passed to protect them.
